English School 2 | Get Connected

The English School- Twice each week, August through May, volunteers work with individuals of all ages from a variety of ethnic backgrounds to enhance their English language skills. In addition to teaching language skills citizenship classes are offered.
Classes are held on Tuesday evenings, from 6:15 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday mornings from 9:15 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Each session begins with a meet and greet followed by a short devotional given by Senior Pastor, Dr. Bill Ross. Then students break out into small study groups for lessons. No special skills are required and all materials and training are provided by the church. The Extension- The Extension is a non-profit, community-supported organization serving Cobb County and the entire metropolitan Atlanta area. It provides addiction recovery services through a comprehensive Residential Recovery Program for homeless men and women, outpatient counseling and various outreach initiatives. Various groups, such as Sunday morning Bible study classes provide a meal the first Monday of each month for Women's Extension and the fourth Monday of each month for Men's Extension. Boy Scout Troop 144- Boy Scout Troop 144 has been active at First Baptist Church Marietta since 1941, and is one of the oldest troops in Cobb County. This important ministry develops vital teamwork and leadership skills in the boys and young men of our community. Members and leaders alike also enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of campouts, outdoor adventures, and community service projects. Troop 144 meets on Monday nights from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at FBCM Family Life Center (lower level). Come and see what we are all about!

Lake Allatoona Facility- Located on Lake Allatoona in Canton, Georgia, our lakeside facility provides a scenic backdrop for a variety of church events. Each Spring the amphitheater plays host to one of the most breathtaking Easter Sunrise services in Georgia and evening worship services are held throughout the Summer. All are welcome to attend. Mission Marietta2 | Get Connected

Mission Marietta- One week every June, during Mission Marietta our Student Ministry, in conjunction with church and community volunteers, participate in home improvement projects for low income and elderly residents here in Marietta. Projects include: roofing, painting, carpentry, landscaping and house cleaning. We need volunteers to work on projects and make and deliver lunches to volunteers at each worksite. Big Game Outreach-First Baptist Church Marietta has a tradition of providing a warm meal for the homeless on Super Bowl Sunday. It is prepared and served by our Student Ministry group, aided by parents and other volunteers. Warm clothing, blankets, and tents are also provided to the homeless. Volunteers are needed to provide transportation for the homeless, cook and serve the meal, and clean up afterwards.
