Bill has been pastor of First Baptist Church Marietta since September 2007. He is married to Penny and they have two adult children, Will and Shea. Bill graduated from Campbell University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. For over 20 years he has been involved with a partnership with India Baptist Theological Seminary in Kottayam, India. The question that drives Bill as he leads First Baptist is: "If First Baptist Church Marietta were not here, would anyone notice?" He enjoys running, water skiing, golf and spending time at the lake. Outside of leading First Baptist Church to being the presence of Christ in north Georgia and around the world, Bill hopes to run a marathon in 2012.
Dr. Paul Hill has been a church musician for over 33 years and is a third generation minister. He is married to Janet and has two delightful children, Zach and Rosemary. Dr. Hill's studies in music education (BM, DMA), coupled with his studies in church music (MCM), have helped shape how he defines himself as a Church Music Educator serving as a minister in the local church. Dr. Hill designed a curriculum primarily to assist other church musicians in teaching their choir members how to improve their music literacy skills called The Basic Music Reading Skills Course. He has been the Minister of Worship Arts at FBCM since 1999. Dr. Hill is also the Founding Conductor/Music Director of the community orchestra, Symphony on the Square. Some of his hobbies include fishing, computing, carpentry, woodcarving and herb gardening. He most enjoys making music and being with his family.
Dean has been on the staff of FBCM for 32 years. Dean was born in Louisiana and graduated from Northwestern State University. Dean was called to become a full time minister during his 3rd year of college and entered Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth Texas in 1968 and graduated with a Masters in Religious Education. Dean loves to see people grow in Christ, stretch their faith and see the church accomplishing Gods mission in the world. He presently serves as Minister of Congregational Care and visits hospitals, nursing homes, shut-ins and those who need God's touch of caring in their lives. Dean and his wife, Martha, have been married for over 40 years and have two grown children and two wonderful grandchildren. Dean loves to watch old movies, read historical fiction, LSU football (the good the bad and the ugly) and play with the grandchildren.
Rev. Lauren, or Ms. Lauren as the children say, is a native to the Atlanta area. Lauren is passionate about teaching each child that God loves them the way they were made, and showing them that they can help share God's love to the world no matter how young or old they are. Lauren has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Shorter College and earned her Master of Divinity from Mercer University's McAfee School of Theology. When she isn't writing lessons or planning children's events, Lauren enjoys playing tennis, attending concerts to hear music from the latest top 40 artist to stroll though Atlanta, and watching the latest new release at the closest cinema. Lauren is an avid reader, enjoys Broadway musicals and likes to try new types of foods. Her current favorites are Sushi, Greek, and Cuban.
Randy Everette has served as the minister to students (middle school, high school and college) since November of 2010. Randy was born and raised in Savannah and graduated from Oglethorpe University. He volunteered in youth ministry and Young Life during college and spent 5 years serving as a children and youth minister in Manchester, Georgia. Most recently, he spent 8 years living in Colorado Springs, attending Fuller Theological Seminary and serving as an administrator at a local high school. The best things about Randy's life are his wonderful wife Becky and awesome daughters Halley and Grace. Randy has summitted 36 of Colorados 14ers, meaning he has 20 more to go! (Mt. Elbert was his favorite hike because Becky summited with him.) He loves student ministry as a chance to come alongside teenagers to help them grow into a furious love relationship with a Creator who is head over heels about them.
