Deacon Ministry
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:4
A deacon is a person called to serve others in need;a leader in the Church.

The Deacons of the Marietta First Baptist Church are there to serve the congregation, the community and the world. This is a body of active servant leaders who see needs and fill them.

The Deacon Ministry led teams of the Church visit the hospitals, the nursing homes and the homebound; they pray for all; they reach out to new members and those who are searching; they do home maintenance for those with needs and they support the staff. The hospitality team covers a great area of service, including our 4th of July outreach to the community that literally brings thousands to our church, and makes them feel welcome and cared for.

Deacons are involved in missions in Marietta, Cobb County, our nation and around the world to provide help and spread God's Word. They teach Sunday School and lead prayer groups. Deacons participate in the worship services, music, and with the youth and children.

"Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal. but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality" Romans 12:10 - 13

Where ever Marietta First Baptist Deacons can serve, they will be there. If you need us let the Church know.

The measure of a person is not how many servants he has but how many men he serves.
