FBCMarietta is proud of our many programs in and outside the church. From ongoing programs like our English School to annual events like Big Game Outreach which hosts a Super Bowl party for the homeless, there are many opportunities to contribute to the community.

Below is a list of our ongoing outreach programs.

The English School

Twice each week, August through May, volunteers work with individuals of all ages from a variety of ethnic backgrounds to enhance their English language skills. In addition to teaching language skills, citizenship classes are offered.

Classes are held on Tuesday evenings, from 6:15pm to 8:00pm and Thursday mornings from 9:15am to 11:30am. Each session begins with a meet-and-greet followed by a short devotional given by Senior Pastor, Dr. Bill Ross. Then students break out into small study groups for lessons.

No special skills are required and all materials and training are provided by the church. For additional information on becoming an English School volunteer please contact Melba Lehman at

The Extension

The Extension is a non-profit, community-supported organization serving Cobb County and the entire metropolitan Atlanta area. It provides addiction recovery services through a comprehensive Residential Recovery Program for homeless men and women, outpatient counseling and various outreach initiatives. Various groups, such as Sunday morning Bible study classes provide a meal the first Monday of each month for Women's Extension and the fourth Monday of each month for Men's Extension. Boy Scout Troop 144

Boy Scout Troop 144 has been active at First Baptist Church Marietta since 1941, and is one of the oldest troops in Cobb County. This important ministry develops vital teamwork and leadership skills in the boys and young men of our community. Members and leaders alike also enjoy the fellowship and camaraderie of campouts, outdoor adventures, and community service projects. Troop 144 meets on Monday nights from 7:30pm to 9:00pm at FBCM Family Life Center (lower level). Come and see what we are all about!
